It can be used, and it should be no problem if it is still used.

My battery was way past usable, it ran out of juice immediately after being unplugged and after replacing the one it came with when I bought it several years ago it runs like a champ for hours!

Got my laptop battery when expected, received fully charged also, very happy with service as I had been searching for months for that specific battery.

The battery fits perfectly and works well. It barely lasts the whole day though, but the both 4400mah batteries I bought don't quite fit. The back of the phone pops open. I think I'll buy another of these and just swap it during the day.
